CrimsonCup Brand

CrimsonCup Coffee helps independent coffeehouse owners to compete against big corporate chains. They offer business advice, employee training, equipment, merchandising and marketing support. And they supply their own brand of high-quality roasted coffee beans and other specialty coffee products.

Given the supporting nature of their business, the CrimsonCup brand was largely invisible to consumers. The challenge was to increase the brand awareness in a way that avoided the impression of a franchise operation.

Eyethink helped CrimsonCup clarify its brand message by eliminating confusing sub-branding initiatives. A new brand mark was introduced along with messaging and support graphics that positioned CrimsonCup as the champion of independent
coffeehouses and purveyors of fine coffee. Flexibility
and variety were built into the design system to allow each coffeehouse to retain its own identity. As a result,
the CrimsonCup brand remained
in the background, but became more consistent, more distinctive and
more memorable.
