OSU Barrister Hall Donor Recognition

OSU Barrister Hall Donor Recognition

The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law opened the Barrister Club in the Fall of 2005. The facility hosts programs for students and alumni as well as special events for the College, University and other outside groups. The College asked Eyethink to create a system to recognize the facility's donors in a way that was appropriate for this unique space.

An open, two-story staircase, leads from the ground-floor foyer to the main lobby on the second floor. The wall adjacent to the staircase presented an opportunity for a donor recognition display that would form a dramatic backdrop for the lobby. The solution involved routing and insetting the names of donors into maple flooring mounted to the wall. The names were intermixed with expressions
of fundamental values to which the College and its donors subscribe.

Named areas within the facility are acknowledged using wood and other natural materials inspired by the decor and furnishings in the space.
